The Jamaica Combined Cadet Force (JCCF) is a national youth development organization that provides training in leadership, discipline, teamwork, and citizenship. It operates in secondary schools across Jamaica and aims to prepare young people to become responsible leaders and productive members of society.

The Jamaica Combined Cadet Force is open to both student cadets and adult volunteers.

Students enrolled in participating secondary schools in Jamaica, typically between the ages of 12 and 19, may join the JCCF through their school unit. Participation is voluntary and provides opportunities for leadership development, discipline, and community service.

Adults who are interested in mentoring and supporting youth development may also apply to serve as Adult Instructors or Commissioned Officers. These volunteers assist with training, supervision, and the overall development of cadets within school units and during camps, exercises, and national activities.

Cadets take part in a variety of activities including:

  • Leadership and personal development training
  • Drill and ceremonial activities
  • Physical fitness and field exercises
  • Community service projects
  • Camps, competitions, and national events

These activities are designed to build confidence, teamwork, and discipline.

The JCCF is not a military recruitment program. While it follows structured training similar to military discipline, its primary purpose is youth development, leadership training, and character building. Participation does not obligate cadets to join the military in the future.

Adults who are interested in supporting youth development may apply to serve as Adult Instructors or Commissioned Officers in the JCCF. Applicants must complete the official application form, submit the required documents, and undergo screening and training before appointment.
